A NEW Rock Anthem for the BEST City in the World - Toronto
In 1992 there was a contest in Toronto searching for a Theme Song for Toronto's 200th Birthday. 'Toronto You're My Home' was written and recorded by Geoff Tebbutt and Eric Lambier for that contest and finished second and was subsequently played at Nathan Phillips Square for the 'Blue and White' Rally for the Maple Leafs in 1993 and at the SkyDome during an Argo's Pre-Season Game that same year.
While re-attending College in 2002-2005 at the World-Famous Music Industry Arts Program in London, Ontario - Geoff Tebbutt recorded an updated version of 'Toronto You're My Home' in a state of the art studio. Eric Lambier re-recorded beautiful Piano, Organ and Vocals and a young rapper named Doug Rodger added a rap section. Add in a few world-class musicians and we have a great new Anthem. Read about that process and see the video that followed here.
Ever since the Toronto Maple Leafs went 3 rounds in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 1993, Geoff has been waiting for the team to get to that level again. Unfortunately this was not the year for Leaf Fans. But the Toronto Raptors are headed to the NBA Finals and their fans are just as rabid as Leaf Fans. We have updated the song with some new instruments and a new Guitar Solo and re-mixed by Juno Winner Siegfried Meier. See our plans to create and financially support (through sales of the song) the soon to be created Toronto You're My Home Foundation to help out Homeless Folks in Toronto.
